Wongajong breeds $uperBorder$ grade rams for specialist First-cross lamb producers in Australia.
The average Wongajong ram has a Border Leicester Dollar Index of 116 and in its lifetime will breed $2600 more lamb meat than Wongajong rams of 10 years ago.
Is your ram supplier making that level of progress? If it is not recording it may be making no progress at all!
The $2600 advantage comes from faster lamb growth, more second-cross lambs weaned and more carcasses within specification.
Every ram is independently rated by LAMBPLAN after detailed measurement and comparison with other flocks.
There will be a dispersal sale of the Wongajong ewe flock on Thursday January 29th, 2009. The annual Wongajong Ram sale was held on Thursday September 25th. Fifty one rams sold at auction to average $601, with the top price of $3500 for lot 3 purchased by Womboota Pastoral Co. A further 24 rams have been sold since the sale, leaving 25 good rams still for sale. |
The Wongajong stud is located at "Cal Col", 6304 Cobb Highway, (12km south of Deniliquin), NSW.
